Strength.

Not the kind measured in kilograms lifted, miles run, or how quickly a body returns to what it looked like before.

A different kind of strength.

The strength to keep showing up for something that matters to you, even when your body is tired. To move, sweat, train, create and challenge yourself while also growing, nourishing and caring for another human being.

Because sometimes the body can be at its most depleted and its most powerful at exactly the same time.

It can feel exhausted, stretched, changed and vulnerable — and still produce the most vital thing another human being needs.

Milk.

This isnt a post about “bouncing back”.
It isnt about reclaiming a pre-baby body.
And it certainly isnt about proving that breastfeeding mothers can “do it all”.

Its about recognising the extraordinary complexity of the postpartum body.

A body that can be vulnerable and strong.
Exhausted and capable.
Changed and powerful.
Giving everything it has to someone else, while still belonging to the woman living in it.

And thats what strength really looks like.

Not returning to who you were.

But discovering just how much you are capable of being, whatever that looks like for you...and only you. 🤍

🖤 Celebrating Black Breastfeeding Week 🖤

This Black Breastfeeding Week, we’re celebrating Black mothers, parents, babies and families — and the strength, resilience, culture and community that surround their breastfeeding journeys.
Black Breastfeeding Week exists because representation matters. Because every parent deserves access to the support, information and encouragement they need to make informed choices about feeding their babies — and because every breastfeeding story deserves to be seen, heard and valued.
We also want to acknowledge the incredible work of The Motherhood Group whose work champions Black mothers and addresses the inequalities and barriers that can shape the experiences of Black families across maternity and parenthood.

🖤

At Breastival, we believe breastfeeding support must be inclusive, accessible and representative of all families. So raise a glass and Happy Black Breastfeeding Week to all. 🥂

As World Breastfeeding Week comes to a close, it feels only right to look back on what was an incredibly special day at Breastival last Saturday. 💜
What you see in this video is a celebration, but behind every smile, every activity, every conversation and every little detail are countless hours of planning, problem-solving and teamwork. Events like this don't just happen – they are built by our passionate team who give their time, energy and hearts to creating something meaningful for families.
To every volunteer, supporter, sponsor, exhibitor, performer, photographer and beyond.... and every single person who came along – thank you. Your support makes Breastival possible, and together we're creating a community where breastfeeding is celebrated, supported and normalised.
As we mark the end of World Breastfeeding Week, we're reminded that this work doesn't stop today. Every conversation, every act of kindness and every family who feels a little more supported helps create lasting change.
Thank you for believing in our vision and for being part of the Breastival community. Here's to continuing the conversation all year round. 💜
